Science we are continuing our work on the Water Cycle and will be moving on to Weather and Climate next week.
Social Studies we are finishing up Ch. 10 and will test over Ch. 10 on Friday.  Wednesday we will work on our study for our test.

Newsletter

Parents,
Happy Valentines Day!  I hope you each are having a fantastic day.  Our day was WONDERFUL and quite busy!  Not only did we celebrate Valentines Day, we also had our Boosterthon kick off today.  Each child will come home with their pledge map and access code.  This code is to be used on the website and you can put your pledges in online.  I am so excited about this opportunity to help raise money for our school.  Please help your son/daughter get some pledges.  Here is an update for the rest of the week:
Wednesday is our Wordly Wise lesson 19 test.  Remember this is over Spelling and definitions.
In Math, we are continuing our work with decimals.  Tomorrow we will spend our day reviewing how to add, multiply, and divide with decimals.  Thursday will be our test over Ch. 13
Science we are continuing our study of erosion and soil.  The Water Cycle will be the next topic we discuss.
In Social Studies we have been studying James K. Polk and we will continue on with the CA Gold Rush.
In Language we are reviewing Common and Proper Nouns.
Please make sure your son/daughter is reading 30 minutes each night and studying.  I know Wordly Wise has been tough for some, but we are almost finished..  We just have to make it to Lesson 20!  I know they can do it!  If you have any questions please let me know.  Hope you all have a fantastic night!

Welcome back!  I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend!  Looks like the cold is going to be coming back to us, so please be sure your son/daughter has a coat at school each day.  We will be going out to recess everyday as long as it isn’t freezing and there isn’t any rain.  However, I will not allow them to go out without a coat.  I want to make sure we keep everyone as healthy as possible!
Please remember we will be celebrating Valentines Day on the 14th.  Make sure your child address an invitation to each child in our classroom and remember they must be done in cursive!
I also want you to know how thankful we are for all of the supplies you have sent in to donate to our friends in Africa!  It is so amazing the amount of supplies we have received to ship off.  I’ll post a picture to my website soon showing the amount of supplies we have received.
Here is a brief look at our week:
Math- we are reviewing decimals and we will test over Ch. 12 on Wednesday
Science- We are discussing the phases of the moon.  Wednesday we will review and complete our study guide and we will test over Ch. 4 on Thursday.
Social Studies we began discussing the Trail of Tears today.  Tomorrow we are going to prepare to have a “class debate” on Thursday.
Reading- Our story this week is Encyclopedia Brown and we are working on contractions.
Wordly Wise test over Lesson 18 will be Wednesday.  We only have a few more lessons left in Wordly Wise.  The kids are doing great, so let’s all really encourage them to finish out strong with Wordly Wise!
